My oldest daughter is here from Oklahoma to stay for a couple of days, so projects are on hold. Or at least I thought.

She came to me and told me that her friend told HER  about a lamp made of books. And of course, she wants it. So, being mom, we get in the truck and go flea marketing for books and an old lamp.

She picks these books out, Ken  drills a hole in them and sticks the bar in the books. She didn't like the shade that came with it, so she goes to my sewing room, and steals the one off of my lamp.         I fell in love with this. I am going to have to do one for the store.

http://www.facebook.com/fortsmithmarketI Just scheduled myself for this show in Fort Smith for September 15th. If you have never set up at Gail's market at the mall, it is INCREDIBLE!!! Come by and visit, and bring a buggy. You will need it to carry off all the great things that you will find. I went to it a couple of shows ago, and it is amazing at the things that the vendors bring.

For those of you who come to our show in Conway, some of those vendors are at this one. This is my first time to set up, and hopefully not my last. Come by and visit. 8-4 at the Townsend mall. Check out her site I have listed above..

I have not been able to get on here in a while because projects have backed up. The record player cabinet is JUST NOW getting it's wood built in it. Painted tomorrow..

I put on my face book that I would be giving out a secret recipe for my chalk paint, rather than buying the expensive paint that is $50.00 a quart. This can be mixed up in about 15 minutes, and ready for your projects and dries in about 30 minutes IF you do it right.

Mix   1/2 cup Calcium Carbonate, 1/2 cup water,  1 AND 1/2 cups LATEX paint together in a jar.  I used a pint canning jar, and put the lid on it afterwards to save it.  ** Very important to remember when painting with this!! Paint slow, and do NOT PAINT HEAVY  COATS!!! This will not dry.. Wait until coat is completely dry, and paint your second coat. You will only need to touch up. Streaks will disappear.

**** I buy this Calcium Carbonate at AMAZON.COM   You may find it somewhere cheaper..Paint goes a long way..   ENJOY YOUR PROJECT!

Well, here is the start of it.  I got it gutted, and ready for a rebuild.

That begins tomorrow.
I have been studying this one all day long deciding what I want to do.

I scheduled myself another show to do for next month, and I want to take this piece. But it needs some work.

Update on this one coming soon.

I asked everyone on Face book to give me their input on this pretty piece. It is sold beautiful still, but it drags when playing records, and can't be fixed. She's worn out. ( I can relate)

I am working on her today. Stay tuned for update.

I have been working on a fountain to decorate in our booth. If I can get it to where it does not splash!!  Ken says NO! To many parents don't watch their children, and water will be thrown all over the store..

I will probably take the fountain up there and set it up tall.....

Haven't been able to get anything posted for a while due to my hurt arm. I did manage to get out and help Ken paint some antique doors, and create a room screen with them to take to our booths.

I am making some banners to hang at the store in the our booths. We are moving into some bigger booths, and I am going to use these as wall drops.

I seen this on Pinterest, and it is actually fun to make. I may try making some with the old sayings on them to sell.

I worked at the store all day yesterday, so Ken stayed busy in the shop making his own ideas.

I really like the rooster with the chicken wire over it...

This is a table that I made, and podged from a 1915 Kimball piano that had fallen apart. The top of the table is the top, and the legs, I used the carvings of the piano legs.  I modge podged it with 1930's - 1960's news articles that I found in an abandoned trunk.  I am selling this piece at the show in January.

I have not been on here to post pictures, or posts for a while because my shoulder has been out. But My husband has been wonderful to tag team with me to do so simple projects that do not require much from me.

This is a very neat dresser made from cola crates. We are currently doing a 5 drawer.
Antique window decor table that can be used indoor or outdoor on patio or deck.
I guess this is my favorite piece of them all. A cabinet made of antique doors. LOVE IT!!

Antique window with gospel music podged onto it with burlap background.  I had a songbook that was falling apart, and found some of the hymnals that reminded me of my grandmother playing the piano.
This is an absolute  BEAUTIFUL piece of furniture. It is an antique dresser, that I painted vanilla white.
