I had extra door pieces after making the swings, and I was going to throw them out. I decided to make a shelf out of two pieces of an antique door. I like how it had the side where the knob goes.
Finished, and I am so excited!!

This project was SO EASY!! You have to try this one!! To end all things, I sanded the corners, and all the edges of the molding. Then I rubbed stain over the COMPLETE door. Then I took a clean towel, and rubbed over it. WA-LA!!!

Well, since I finished my door, I started a new project. Antique door coffee table. Now this one is fun, and easy!!

1. Antique door
2. 4x4 posts, cut to 14" Length
3. Deck screws
4. (this one is optional) I used the band that is sold at Home Depot, in the fencing department. It is the top cap for 4x4 posts on wood fences to add character to them.

Place your 4x4 posts where you desire, I did not want mine on the corners of the door. So I went in 14 inches each way. I placed my fencing band after screwing in the 4x4's. Screw the bands on the bottom of posts for character.  You are ready to paint!!!

GUESS WHAT IS COMPLETE
We now have a new antique bathroom door. I have one thing to say. If you do not have patience, DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME!!"

I enjoy each and every project that I do, but this was a SERIOUS HEADACHE! But I love the outcome.

Well, I have been working hard on this door. LONG process. I mixed murphy oil with water in the mop bucket, and gave it a bath first. The door looked SO MUCH BETTER. Then I put poly, satin finish-2 coats on it, to protect it. I have been shopping for the best frost paint. Finally found spray frost paint-HOME DEPOT. I am starting the lettering tomorrow. Then frosting it. More pics-coming soon!!

I started a new project for my own home, that I am hoping will turn out rather nifty!! I picked up a trailer load of doors SEVERAL months ago, and there were 2 of these window doors in them. I have not done anything with them yet.  As many of my friends know, my all time favorite spot in the whole world is HOT SPRINGS ARKANSAS. Well known for their bathhouse row. I decided to take this door, and frost it, and paint "WASHROOM" on it, and put it on my bathroom. I have a little work to do on it, but I LOVE the door. Posted pics coming soon!!

Here is a fun home project that takes about 30 minutes.

Take a cola crate..

Cute you some 2" foam to size. Make sure that it is not so snug that you can not fit it in the crate.
Pick out some material that you prefer, and sew 3 sides. fit your foam in it, then sew your last end. I made a pillow also...
I leaned down to take a close up pic for you, and my baby girl jumped in it.
PERFECT doggie bed!!!

OKAY!! This is by no means a project to do if you are in a hurry!! This took me 2 days! First I painted my lamp, Then I cut my old lamp shade off. I had tons of scrap material from making aprons, and curtains, etc. So I decided to try this that I had seen on the internet. Cutting the strips was the easy part. There is a technique to tying them to your shade. tie your bottom first. Then string it upward. Then tie a knot.  As you are going around it, you have to keep scooting them together.    GOOD LUCK!!!

I had a fun time with this one. grouting pennies on top of an old table, and painting the table. I am waiting for it to dry so I can seal it.

This was an easy project, and a fun project. I put the pennies on with liquid nail, so that I know that they will not come off. It only took 1 cup of grout to do this table. Very inexpensive craft.

I have been working all day on projects, but several at one time, and didn't finish any. I can't wait to finish them tomorrow, and take pics to show you some new creations.

My swing that I shared with you, my daughter decided that she needed one hanging beside mine, but only just big enough for HER. So my dear sweet husband went to the shop and made her one out of her own antique door.
BRAT!!!

Surely you know one like mine..She even went to town, and picked out her own color of paint.  I will share a pic with you tomorrow. Have a wonderful night.

Another marble top cabinet ready to go. This one has a screen door latch. I like this color better, it seems to make the marble stand out.

This has been such a hectic week! I tried a new project, and boy!! Did it turn into a job!! Making a swing from antique doors!!  This is not for your person who cannot take stress!! Antique doors do not have straight edges, and not all antique doors are the same size. I know that I have at least 2 people that I know of that likes to copy everything that I make. Well, best wishes on this one!!

Cabinet made of pickets

Indian corn on fork for door decor
Swing made of dining chair
Evening everyone. I gave out the blog address on Facebook, and did not realize that it had been so long since I updated my page, so I wanted to share a few things with you while you are here. I post things here, that I do not post on Facebook.  I try to keep them separate. So I have many pics to share. These are easy projects, and DIY projects for anyone at home.

My daughter is better, after much prayer, naps, and antibiotics. So I decided to make my way outdoor and do projects.
Here is an antique door that has been turned into a seat for indoor. I decorated it with some of our pillows.
Then I had a roll cart that I had ran across at a flea market. This makes 2 that I have. I love these.
And of course, my LAST antique bed bench that I am going to do. This one is for a garden bench.

My daughter caught a case of pneumonia, so I have been tied up for several days, going into a week now. I haven't been able to do much of anything.

So, since I was stuck in my own home, and having to check on her constantly, I decided to repaint my living room and dining room wall. It was barn red.  And the other 3 walls are antique white. I like this better.

 Burlap Napkin Rings
When I was going through things to load for the show, I ran across these cloth napkins, but they needed some help. It being Fall time, I decided to decorate for harvest. I pulled out my Burlap, cut strips, hot glued it, I keep burlap twine for crafts, so I made bows, and hot glued an antique button.

This is SO easy, and a last minute idea. Perfect for "Harvest" time decor.
